Do I want to become a partner?
At this point, there are a few ways to become a partner. If
financial partnership is your goal, please email us at
TrevorJohnston@compuserve.com.
If you wish to serve with us, check with your local Nazarene Church mission
office about projects in France. If they're unaware of a project in France,
you can hand them a copy of this web page, and ask them to contact the
Nazarene Mission Board.

Becoming a partner is fairly simple. To become a partner,
all an individual needs to do is help us meet needs like the ones below:
-
Prayer partners:
As you can imagine, any active ministry needs prayer warriors. This
is one thing people can do simply by committing to spend time regularly
praying for what's happening with God's work in France. Do you want to
know how to pray for our team specifically? Check out our What's
happening section.
-
Financial partners:
The work of planting churches requires financial help. Paul thanked
the churches which helped him over and over in his epistles. We too need
the help of fellow believers to do the work which has been given to us.
-
Church planters:
As our ministry grows, the need for people who are willing to reach
out increases. It's an exciting problem to have. Our goal is to train nationals
to do what we're doing so that we can allow French to do the work of ministering
to each other instead of having an outsider come in and do it. BUT
until then, we still need people to help with the work of ministering.

What's Happening
God gives us awesome opportunities.
What we do with them will determine how we see them, and how God works
through us for His glory.

Prayer Requests:

St. Denis
|
We have been led to a new property available for purchase in the community
of St. Denis. It would be a great location for one of our congregations
currently crowded in the Paris First Church building. Located directly across
from a popular community park on a well-traveled street, it appears to be a
prime spot for reaching families. This building, with approximately 390 square
meters, can be purchased for around 200,000 U.S. Dollars. It is literally a
shell of a place with a lot of potential, but we must act quickly if it is to
become a Nazarene property.

Urgent Request
This annexe, with its ministry rooms and future fellowship hall, could be lost
if we don't act quickly. Would you be faithful partners of Paris and our
ministry here by praying fervently for the funds to underwrite the purchase of
the Versailles annexe? Through nothing short of a miracle, we need $120,000
to buy this building. If we do not have these funds by our April deadline,
we lose our first option to buy it and, quite possibly, lost the use of the
building altogether. There's no way for you to look through the windows in
this picture and see the Bible studies, the spiritual growth, the mentorship and
fellowship that goes on each and every week inside the annexe. But if you
could, you would feel as strongly as I do, how we must keep this building.

Dreux

Also Needed
Needed for our church in Dreux, just outside of Paris, is a smaller amount but
no less a task. Since the bank has declined our request for a loan, the
purchase of our church building in Dreux hinges on a $30,000 sum due also in
April. We are praying; will you join us?
|
-
Pray for a volunteer who could help develop a children's and youth ministry
across our district.
-
Pray that the Lord will make more church planters available and provide
for their support needs.
-
Pray specifically for the financial needs of our church planters at Ecouen.
Funding for our church planters at Versailles will be exhausted by June 1999.
Churches:
- Three congregations in central Paris
(one Haitian, one French Caribbean, and one Arabic-speaking)
- One church plant at Versailles (averaging 20 people)
- One new plant at Dreux (60 km southwest of Paris, averaging 20 people)
- One church plant at Ecouen (20 km north of Paris, averaging 10 people)
- Two new Bible studies in Roanne in central France
- One church in Montpellier (southern France)
- New couple from Strasbourg (north-eastern France) joined the church of the
Nazarene in May of 1999, with a view to plant a new work in this part of
France in the upcoming years.

The history of the three colors of the French national flag, blue white
and red can be traced back to the time of Charlemagne, when a blue white
and red ribbon was tied to the lance of the banner given him by pope Leo
III. It became the official flag of the country during the time of the
French Revolution in 1789. It was officially adopted by the French republic
in 1848 and has remained the flag ever since. The motto of the French Republic
is "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity."
