Director's Desk - Dwight Jarboe
It was like a week of family reunions. In late October, Rena and I traveled south to North Carolina where the iced tea is already sweetened and where we began married life together in August, twenty-five years ago. I was invited to attend the JAARS Aviation Technical Conference as an observer, and give a short report about MMS Aviation. Rena and I were formerly members of Wycliffe Bible Translators and served with its technical support arm, JAARS, until 1982. It was a joy to renew friendships and introduce Rena to people I came to know during my travels while she stayed home as our children grew to adulthood.
This year I was especially impressed by the quality of the JAARS leadership. In his report to the delegates from each of the countries where they operate aircraft, CEO, Jim Akovenko, said something that really grabbed my attention. He said that JAARS needs personnel who are spiritually fit, technically competent, and emotionally mature.
Jim's statement was both validating and challenging. Spiritual fitness, technical competency, and emotional maturity are qualities we at MMS Aviation have striven over the years to example and teach. I believe we are on the right track and am pleased by what has been accomplished. However, I am challenged to help our graduates be even more fit, competent and mature.
MMS Aviation continues to repair, overhaul and modify missionary aircraft. Our newly expanded facility is being put to good use. And my resolve to be spiritually fit, technically competent, and emotionally mature is renewed.

For our third year at the Coshocton County Fair representing the ministry of MMS and the great opportunities this provides to witness and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Please Pray
Please Pray
For wisdom for the MMS Board of Trustees. The Board seeks the Lord’s will in improving MMS’s ability to meet the critical shortage of aviation maintenance personnel throughout the Christian missionary world.
For a continued flow of volunteer construction crews to help complete the hangar expansion.
For increased interest in mission service throughout the aviation spectrum, for families and individuals able and willing to serve, and for churches to joyfully send forth their laborers.
