MMS Aviation Moves into the New Millennium
New Name
Friday, October 15, 1999, marked the beginning of a new chapter in Missionary Maintenance Services’ history as MMS was authorized by its Board of Trustees to conduct official business as “MMS Aviation.”
Deciding that the exclusive aviation focus of the MMS program needed to be made more clear to the general and aviation public, the MMS Board unanimously approved adding “Aviation” to the familiar MMS logo.
New Website Address
Adopting the new name allowed MMS Aviation to have its own
domain on the World Wide Web. You will find us located at:
www.mmsaviation.org
Though the old e-mail address still works, you may desire to update your address book to
reflect these new “e“ddresses:
admin@mmsaviation.org
or
hangar@mmsaviation.org
New Facilities
The construction of our newly expanded hangar facility has moved into its final stages. The few remaining interior projects have started.
Thank you to the volunteer construction crews from W. Chicago (IL) Bible Church; Coshocton’s own Calvary Baptist Church, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and Grace United Methodist Church; Fresno (OH) Bible Church; and Stanwood (OH) Community Church who have helped push this building project closer to completion.

Farewell to the Ziessler Family
Holger Ziessler, our apprentice from Germany, has completed his training at MMS, passed the FAA mechanic exams, and received his A&P certification.
Holger, Maria, and their two children have left Coshocton for South Africa, where Holger will serve as primary mechanic for Mercy Air.

Christiaan and Nicolien Koetsier have arrived in Coshocton from Holland, with their two children, Nick and Anne.
Christiaan is training with us as a maintenance specialist through an agreement with Mission Aviation Fellowship, Netherlands (MAF-NL). We are excited to have them join the MMS family.
Two Stateside Rapid Responses
During October and November MMS sent urgently needed maintenance teams to assist two US based mission flight programs: Missionary Flights International (MFI), located in West Palm Beach, Florida; and United Indian Mission (UIM), based in Tucson, Arizona.
West Palm Beach, Florida
Apprentices Ryan Joy and Helge Evensen spent two weeks of October down south assisting with a wing pull and inspection of one of MFI’s four DC-3’s.
Tucson, Arizona
Team Leader Don Penner and Apprentice Michael Hoffner traveled to UIM’s hangar facility where they spent three weeks making field modifications and installed a short take-off and land (STOL) kit on a Cessna 206. Mike and Don also represented MMS at UIM’s Mission Aviation Day, Nov 6.
