PRAYER AND PRAISE

Prayer...

for a continued spirit of servanthood among staff and apprentices as our hangar fills with new faces, many from international places.

for the Lord to provide added airplane projects to keep everyone with a tool in their hand and a hymn in their heart.

for safety for MMS families as they travel during the holiday season.

Praise...

for the two cars donated to MMS. They will be a great blessing for the Kang family from Korea and the Ziessler family from Germany.

for the donated carpet which now covers our fabricating table in the metal shop.

for the donations from summer VBS programs which allowed us to purchase a Hawkeye borescope for the shop.

for the positive County Fair experience.

for continued brotherhood as we labor side by side to accomplish the purpose of Christ’s Great Commission.

NEW AREA CODE FOR MMS

Like so many other regions in America, the proliferation of communications equipment has caused the creation of a new area code for Coshocton County.

Our area code has changed to: 740.

There will be a grace period during which calls will still be completed using the old area code. Please note the change in your telephone directories.

FROM PLANES TO PLAYGROUND

Missionaries need many skills to be effective on the field. While the MMS program focuses on missionary aircraft repair, occasionally there are opportunities where we can use our non-aviation skills in service to the local community.

One such instance arose in October as the MMS crew descended on Coshocton’s Lake Park to assist in the city-wide Build-A-Playground construction project. Hammers, power saws, heavy duty drills, shovels, rakes , and sweat were the name of the game as MMS joined the community effort to build the giant-sized, multi-level, wooden playground complex in less than seven days. No, we weren’t able to stay the full seven days, but Ryan Joy, Don Penner, Chuck Egbert, Dennis Satterthwaite, Chris Jutte, Andy McCain, Dan Moulton, and Dale Coates, did accomplish many tasks during their six-hour shift.

M.L. CALDWELL GRADUATES

M.L. Caldwell completed his thirty-month aviation apprenticeship with us on October 4. General Director, Dwight Jarboe, prepared the letter which authorized M.L. to take the FAA Airframe and Powerplant exams. M.L. has since passed both the written and oral exams and has received his A & P mechanic’s certificate.

We wish him many years of mission service as he moves to Akron, OH, to complete a twelve-month Pastoral Internship. Marriage plans are in the works as well before heading off to the field where M.L. plans to serve as a pilot/mechanic.
