The completion of the Helio Courier and Cessna 336 restorations dominated the efforts of Team Leader Dale Coates, recent MMS graduate Andrew McCain, and Apprentice David Keeslar. They also performed an annual inspection and exchanged engine cylinders on a second Helio Courier operated by the same missionary.

left engine for the Cessna 414.

Team Gingerich

Work continued on the Cessna 414 project under Team Leader Darryl Gingerich’s supervision. With the completion of the floats, Apprentices Helge Evensen and David Langford were moved back to the Cessna to help Apprentice Roger Sands finish the overhaul of the left engine and correct the final deficiencies discovered during the annual inspection.

Team Penner

Don Penner’s team finished the overhaul of the Cessna 414’s right engine. Don led Senior Apprentice Ryan Joy and Apprentice Mike Hoffner in assisting Team Coates with the Helio Courier annual inspection/cylinder exchange. Repair work on a crash damaged Glastar is underway.

Team Satterthwaite

The Piper Pacer restoration continues for Apprentices Seok Ho Ji, Jeremy Sikes, and Holger Ziessler under Team Leader Dennis Satterthwaite. The major airframe components are nearly ready to rig. They are also in the process of inspecting and assembling two engines for a local airplane.
