Projects in the Hangar

Team Helio

Propellers have been hung on both the Helio Courier and the Cessna 336, an annual inspection was completed on a local Piper Commanche, and trouble- shooting was performed on a Piper Aztec. Team Helio consists of Team Leader, Dale Coates, Senior Apprentice Andrew McCain and David Keeslar.

Measuring Cylinder

Team Penner

Don Penner’s team of Apprentices Ryan Joy and Michael Hoffner have kept busy with an engine overhaul for a missionary aircraft. An annual inspection of a local Cessna 182 was also completed.

Bulkhead Repair

Apprentice Roger Sands uses an air-powered grinding wheel to
quickly but carefully remove paint in preparation for replacement
of a cracked bulkhead on the Cessna 414 project.

Team Gingerich

Darryl Gingerich’s team has taken on the missionary Cessna 414 project conducting an annual inspection and overhauling one of its two engines. Apprentice Roger Sands is working closely with Darryl, as Helge Evensen and Dave Langford finish fabricating the second of two floats for a Canadian airplane.

New Wing Leading Edge

Trainee Doug Lupo marks aluminum skin for fabrication prior to
final installation as new leading edge on the Pacer project.

Team Satterthwaite

The Piper Pacer restoration project has dominated the efforts of Trainee Doug Lupo, Apprentices Holger Ziessler, Seok Ho Ji, and Jeremy Sikes. Team Leader Dennis Satterthwaite also directed his team through an annual inspection of a Mooney M20C and troubleshooting engine problems on a Piper Cherokee.
