RAPID RESPONSE - An opportunity to serve, learn & grow

Most of the work accomplished through MMS (training missionary aircraft mechanics and repairing mission aircraft) is done right here in the Coshocton hangar. But, there's more! MMS staff and trainees have opportunities to meet short-term overseas mission needs during their training.
"Breaking Bread" with Mission Family
MMS has responded to needs from 14 mission organizations in 13 countries repairing 42 airplanes through the Rapid Response Corp. Whether it is repairing damage to floats and fuselage in S Korea (our most recent trip) or sending a team to assist in a 1,000 hour inspection in Peru (our next trip), both staff and trainees gain valuable overseas experience. Some of the experience is technical (repairing airplanes). Some of the experience is cultural (experiencing life in a third world country . . . new government regulations, new foods, different housing, opportunities to share our faith and worship with our overseas brothers and sisters in Christ). For the overseas mission, MMS provides "extra hands" to complete a task that may take months with limited personnel, a "Parts Department" often ordering the parts needed for the job and carrying them to the field, and potential future missionaries for their organization (Often MMS graduates have gone on to serve with a mission they have assisted on a Rapid Response trip during their training period). For our prayer and financial partners, it is an opportunity to send someone overseas and to hear "first-hand" accounts of the work being done.
Worshipping with National Believers
The Rapid Response Corp is a valuable tool/opportunity to provide that "something extra" in a missionary apprentice program and we are thankful for the opportunities we have to serve in this way.
