Les Revennaugh Joins MMS Board

Les & Sharon Revennaugh

Les and Sharon Revennaugh

Les Revennaugh, MMS graduate, two term World Gospel Mission airplane mechanic, and former MMS training staff, is the newest member of the MMS Board of Trustees.

Coming up "through the ranks," Les brings a strong understanding of the MMS program to the Board. His years of field experience gained in Bolivia bring an added dimension to a Board of Trustees already dedicated to providing MMS apprentices and trainees with the best technical and non-technical training available.

Projects Placed Back in Service

In one very special week, MMS apprentices and staff returned three major projects back to active service on the mission field.

Helio Courier

Helio Courier

After extensive restoration and repair, Mike Hines’ Helio Courier was "signed-off" and sent into the Coshocton sky. Based in Honduras, this airplane will be used for evangelism and other missionary projects.

Like the Helio Courier, the Cessna 336 project arrived in pieces on the back of a truck. Reassembled and repaired to a more than airworthy condition, it flew out of Coshocton headed for mission service with JAARS, Inc., in Waxhaw, North Carolina.

Luscombe Floats

While the floats didn’t fly out of here, they did return to Canada on the top of a Dodge van! These floats will allow Northern Youth Program’s Luscombe airplane to operate from the many lakes and rivers in western Ontario.

Tanzania Rapid Response Team

In our second international Rapid Response of 1999, Team Leader Dale Coates, with Apprentices Roger Sands and Helge Evensen, traveled to Tanzania, Africa, where they spent three weeks working in support of Mission Aviation Fellowship-Europe.

Dale, Roger, and Helge performed a major airframe inspection; completed major repairs; rigged control surfaces; drilled, riveted, fabricated, painted, and installed assorted components on several different missionary aircraft. Our team also had the opportunity to enjoy the local culture and personally minister to the natives.
