I heard the preacher say it, quoting Romans 10:8
But what saith it?The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; and then Romans. 10:17
'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.'
He then told us that in these United States things are changing, that even though we would line up on the side of the founding fathers and agree with them and they with us, we have been labeled as the fanatical 'religious right.'
Then back to the Old Testament, the Book of Amos 8:11 'Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:'
There was already a famine in the land, he said. The pulpit was being used to proclaim opinion rather than that which was powerful and effective in chasing darkness. It was not speaking hope to a man's life and salvation to his soul.
Then something unexpected happened. 'Bring your Bible tomorrow night, there is going to be a 'Word explosion!' we are going to let the Word be heard.' The following evening as we filed into the arena, the ushers were waiting for us. They had stickers with Scripture verses on them. We were to look those Scriptures up and be ready when the man of God said so. We were going to put God's Word into the air, to fill that place with POWER!
When the time came, we stood to our feet ,drew our swords and prepared for battle. When he told us to begin, we began, 5,625 strong declaring the Word of God. Within one minute we were done, but God was just beginning to do what He does best ...miracles!"
As preachers and teachers of the Gospel we love the testimonies of God's people. What you have just read, has not yet happened. I believe that it will.
